David’s Noodle & Hot Pot – Myer Centre Brisbane

David’s Noodle & Hot Pot is very new, it only opened on Monday in the Myer Centre foodcourt. I saw it on a friend’s Instagram story that it had opened and it’s the name of my other friend who was joining me, (his name is David) so it just made sense to visit. Plus I love noodles. I was quite excited to try it out.

This place is mainly known (they’re also in Sunnybank) for the hot pot. You can choose to make your own hot pot based on weight. Choose soup base, spiciness and ingredients. The ingredients are in an open cabinet which I am really not a fan of but everyone there who had it seemed to be enjoying it. I chose to go for the chonqing street noodles and wonton soup off the menu instead.

Apparently the Sichuan cold noodles and the beef brisket noodle soup are the most popular on the menu in Sunnybank. David had the beef brisket and the meat was clumpy and tough as opposed to tender and falling apart like it should be.

My noodles were a good texture and the flavour was nice. The wontons were quite hard in the middle but the broth was good. It’s not somewhere I would go again.

I actually left when I first arrived. I only had a credit card and they were cash only as they had just opened. Be sure to buy a drink, there is no water available either.
