I love to get out to Manly on the weekends and walk around the waterfront, it’s such a beautiful spot. I came across Coopers Café on Instagram (as you do) and saw they had a new menu launching, which obviously I had to try.
I had eyed up the waffles and knew they looked AMAZING and while it’s not what I normally eat (I’m more of a savoury than sweet girl at breakfast) I decided to give them a whirl. It was definitely dessert for breakfast! Waffles with raspberry coulis, coconut crumb, a nutella ganache and it looked oh-so-pretty!! Who doesn’t love a side of Persian fairy floss with their breakfast? I also had a freshly pressed juice to start the day too – it made me feel healthier, haha.
My friend had the green tomato spiced Shakshuka. It was the other menu item I was tossing up with too. Butter & thyme mushrooms, green chilli, spinach, kale, fried egg and of course, the green tomatoes. I tried hers (great friend) and it was a sensation for the taste buds! It had a nice kick and the egg and bread broke up the powerful green tomatoes. I will definitely order this on my next visit. Or ‘The Bayside’ I saw that go out and immediately had food envy too.
So when you’ve had a breakfast a little on the sweet side, what do you do? Order something savoury!! I picked out a scone and my friend ordered a beautiful layered cake. The cabinet inside Coopers Cafe is one of the most tempting you will come across and with good reason! Freshly baked goods that call out your name and will you to eat more. Totes worth it.
I love watching the day go by from the deck there so I also headed in another day for lunch. I had the fresh snapper with charred vegetables and smoked almond cream sauce while my friend had the calamari. We were both impressed with those meals too.
If you’re wandering around Manly or Wynnum, I highly recommend nipping in to check out this fab cafe.
** While this review was complimentary, this review is authentic and true. Can’t beat watching the day by on the balcony.
