Brisbane Day Trips: Farm & Co Kingscliff

Farm & Co Kingscliff is a gorgeous, operational farm with a lovely cafe attached in Kingscliff.

I saw a picture of friends posing with sunflowers on Instagram at the farm and immediately looked up where they were and I just happened to be in the area the next weekend. It’s just a bit further past the Gold Coast from Brisbane and well worth a drive.

We stopped in to buy sunflowers (cut your own for $4 a head) and unfortunately we were already feeling full as the cafe menu and food looked supreme! I’d definitely go back for brunch.

You pay $5 to enter the farm area – which obviously, we did. There were vegetable crops, pigs, chickens, a calf, hammocks to relax in, plentiful picnic areas and places to chill. It’s beautiful and a lovely place to while away some time.

We wandered around taking it all in and I’d picked up some loppers to cut some sunflowers to take home. We cut some flowers (two for my lounge, it was heading towards the end of season) and took the essential Instagram photos. They have updates on their instagram as to how in bloom the sunfowers are so you can plan your trips.

Be sure to pick some macadamias up off the ground and crack them with the logs for a beautiful fresh burst of flavour. They’re scattered all along by the pig pens. The pigs are having the time of their lives, bathing in the mud and sunbathing.

As we left I bought some passion fruit and a few other fruit and veg from their organic store on site.
