Shepherd Restaurant | Wellington, New Zealand.
Love brunch? Me too.
Shepherd Restaurant in Wellington is fairly well known, but I didn’t know that their brunch was epic as well.
I kicked off with a Bloody Mary. Perfectly spicy and delicious. A celery stick and salted rim would have been next level – but I will certainly take this version any day.
All the bakery goodies come from LSB (Leeds Street Bakery), a delicious spot just around the corner. You can be confident any baked goods will be scrumptious.
I chose the truffled mushrooms. It was a no-brainer for me – I’d been stalking their ‘gram to see what I might like the next day, and that came up and I’d been thinking about it ever since! It was better than I could have imagined though… the pickled rhubarb gave the whole dish this incredibly unique flavor. Then add a perfectly poached egg, truffled mushroom, and parmesan and you’ve got yourself quite the combination! It was so good I actually forgot to take a proper pic of it before I dived in, and had to screenshot my Instagram story instead.
My friend had the Avocado on LSB toast, which was both beautifully presented and delicious.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the capital of NZ.
