Lady Marmalade Brisbane Nails Summer Dinner Menu

I had the absolute pleasure of heading in to Lady Marmalade in Stones Corner to try out their recently launched summer dinner menu. I had heard good things and it certainly didn’t disappoint! There were something’s I was disappointed about though, more on those at the end.

I always like to take recommendations of the best dishes from the team and Sonja (one of the owners) was more than happy to share! You might remember her from my last visit.

Sonja described the local sand crab salad as ‘zinging, ready for main.’ Honestly this was my absolute favourite dish. I’m a big fan of seafood and citrus so they were already off to a good start. The crispy rice is simply amazing. Adds such a. Different texture to the rest of the dish. So zingy so fresh!! I HIGHLY recommend. They were very generous with crab too – it could almost be a main if you weren’t too hungry and maybe had a side.

Do you know how they make the rice crispy? They dehydrate it. Such effort! I love the thought and effort that goes into dishes like this. Well paired with the dry rose too.

Celia loved the grilled black fig and prosciutto salad. The honey and truffle really make this dish. The figs are beautiful and soft and the balsamic is a stark contrast. Meanwhile the artichoke steals the shows – flavoursome and understated. Keep in mind that this is a heavy dish so maybe pair it with something lighter for a main or share between two – there’s definitely enough!

Back to Sonja’s description.. the twice baked cheese souffle with spring lamb shank ragu is ‘like an angel’s kiss.’ Can you seriously choose not to order something described like that?! Of course we had to and the souffle was definitely a highlight. Again, another heavy and filling dish so be pair it with something light.

The sautéed local ocean king prawns, cuttlefish with saffron and pearl pasta was delicious. Light in flavour but deceivingly filling. Lady Marmalade were generous with the prawns and seafood too.

Our last tip from Sonja; ‘You want to leave room for dessert – there’s a new pastry chef!’ We didn’t have much room left but we have dessert a hot go and took the rest home for a midnight snack. We tried the Madagascan vanilla crème brulee, with mango and lime and the callebaut chocolate delice cake with raspberry – soooo incredibly decadent. A great treat.

Things I was disappointed about:
– I didn’t try the Lady M cocktail. It has fairy floss & is apparently delicious.
– I didn’t try the entire menu – it’s so hard to choose and they are updating their menu this week too!
– It was a little dark so my pictures aren’t as pretty as they were in real life.
– I’d also like to try their self-named house red. Served in a carafe no less.

Lady Marmalade is open Fridays and Saturdays for dinner through summer.
